A 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Lading County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan province at 12:52 am Beijing time on September 5. The focal depth was 16 kilometers. So far, the earthquake has killed 65 people, more than 240 people were injured, and some of the local water, electricity, transportation, communication and other infrastructure was damaged. On September 6, the Sichuan earthquake relief headquarters upgraded its emergency response from level 2 to Level 1.

On the night of the earthquake, Coresat emergency organized the relevant personnel to set up an emergency support team, and contacted the local authorities at the first time to cooperate with the disaster relief and communication support work. Subsequently, Coresat successfully contacted the Ganzi Emergency Management Bureau and immediately dispatched technicians to the earthquake area to carry out emergency communication support tasks.
Previously, Coresat has maintained close cooperation with the relevant departments of Ganzi Prefecture and has a resident technical support staff in Ganzi Prefecture. Therefore, the support team was able to arrive at the command center of Ganzi Prefecture Emergency Management Bureau in the first time after the earthquake, and assigned personnel to follow the disaster relief team to the front line of the earthquake area.

The resident technical staff of Ganzi quickly cooperated with the rescue workers to start the "moving through" emergency communication vehicle to reach the earthquake area, and built a satellite communication link between the earthquake site and the provincial command center. As of press release, the "mobile" emergency command vehicle and the Coresat technicians accompanying the vehicle have arrived at the temporary settlement site in Moxi Town, Luding County, the epicenter of the earthquake, and the disaster relief situation and audio and video pictures are transmitted back to Ganzi Emergency Management Bureau and Sichuan Emergency Management Department in real time.
According to colleagues in front of the news, the earthquake caused the collapse of the road 2 kilometers from the center of Moxi town, which hindered the transportation of some large rescue equipment. At present, they are conducting video patrols near Moxi town, waiting for the road to be repaired and opened to traffic after following the rescue team to complete the communication support task.

In addition, Coresat also urgently provided a number of sets of integrated communication equipment and satellite portable stations to provide stable emergency communication support in the traffic repair team and assist traffic rescue personnel to quickly complete the road repair work.

After the start of the emergency response, Sichuan coordinated the deployment of the national comprehensive fire rescue team, the armed police and the People's Liberation Army, professional rescue teams, medical rescue and other emergency rescue forces of more than 6,500 people, carrying earthquake rescue equipment to Luding County, Shimian County, respectively, to carry out emergency rescue work.
