A 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Lading County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan province at 12:52 am Beijing time on September 5. The focal depth was 16 kilometers. So far, the earthquake has killed 65 people, more than 240 people were injured, and some of the local water, electricity, transportation, communication and other infrastructure was damaged. On September 6, the Sichuan earthquake relief headquarters upgraded its emergency response from level 2 to Level 1.
